Caleb & Viola learning to use a macro flash ring.

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

I'm having fun teaching Caleb and Viola how to use a macro flash ring for fill light in macro photography. A common difficulty faced when taking macro pictures is having to use a low f stop like 2.8 to maximize light thus creating a shallow depth of field (a small area of the flower or bug being in focus). Using the circular light ring you can use a higher f stop like 22-40 which creates a wider depth of field (more of the flower or bug being in focus). Click on the arrow keys on either side of the picture to see more pictures of Caleb and Viola taking pictures. I will post some of their pictures soon.
