I recently took some macro pictures using my new Tamron SP VC 90mm f/2.8 lens along with a free flash ring that came with it. Thank you to my parents and family for giving me this lens for my birthday. If you have ever taken macro pictures you already know that many times you have to use a low f-stop like 2.8 in order to get enough light on a flower or bug. This low f-stop causes a shallow depth of field in which not much of the flower or bug is in focus. Using a light ring makes a huge difference because it allows you to add even light on the flower or bug enabling you to use a higher f-stop like 22-60 thus creating a large depth of field in which you can capture a whole flower or bug in focus.
